Calculation of Coupled-bunch Instabilities in a Tau-charm Factory

An essential consideration in the design of “tau-charm factory” storage rings is the control of coupled-bunch instabilities. In this paper, examples of calculations of the growth times of these instabilities are presented. With careful attention to the I”,c~i~t! of the RF and feedback systems, it should be feasible to control these instabilities and achieve the desired luminosity. * Work supported by the Department of Energy, contract DE-AC03-76SF00515.
